Holiday hair advice from Michael Van Clarke

Overexposure to sun, sea salt and chlorine damages the hair shaft from the cuticle to the inner core. But you can keep your crowning glory a cut above the rest with these easy styling tips.

The ultimate daytime beach babe look is the ‘top knot’. Take Michael Van Clarke’s 3 More Inches Pre-Wash Treatment and squeeze into a simple spray bottle. Mix three parts water to one part Pre-Wash and spritz generously to dampen hair. Secure your locks into a high ponytail on the top of your head and twist the lengths before wrapping it around your ponytail. Secure with hairpins and you’re done!

The Queen of bohemian chic, Rachel Bilson, highlights that a natural, loose plait is sexy and sassy. Begin by dousing the hair with 3 More Inches Pre-Wash, then roughly divide your hair into three sections. Start by firmly layering each outer strand over the middle one keeping hair taught to hide strands from exposure. Secure with a hair tie and finish with a mist of Michael Van Clarke’s Holding Spray to keep strands in place.

Jennifer Anniston is the A-star pupil when it comes to laid back evening glamour. Run a golf-ball sized amount of 3 More Inches Volumising Mousse through the lengths of your clean hair and give a cool blast of air from a hair dryer. Hair can then be left slightly damp to dry in the air, ensuring it looks effortlessly surfer chic. To finish part and pull back an inch-wide section, plait loosely and secure underneath the front of your hair, hiding the pins with the length.
