Five simple beauty tips that make all the difference
Looking gorgeous doesn't take miracles - it just takes these top five simple but super beauty tricks.
Shape your eyebrows
Having bushy, unkempt eyebrows is not only unattractive on a woman but it is also missing a trick. You see, eyebrows help to define your eyes and, indeed, the rest of your face. Having well-shaped eyebrows can help your eyes to look brighter and can give the illusion of lifting your entire face. It’s a good idea to get your eyebrows professionally shaped if you’ve not done it before so you can find out which shape suits you. If you’re plucking your eyebrows yourself the general rule is not to pluck above the brow line and avoid making your brows too thin.
Get the right foundation
Foundation can hide a multitude of sins and the right foundation can make your skin look soft, smooth and glowing. But it’s important to make sure you choose the right foundation for you. If you have very oily skin make sure you don’t opt for an oily foundation, a powder-based foundation will be more beneficial. And always test the colour of your foundation on your jaw line to make sure it matches your skin. Testing it on the back of your hand does not work, as the skin is different here.
Choose your hair colour carefully
One of the greatest developments in beauty products in the last 100 years is hair dye. With one little product you can change your hair colour and as such your whole appearance. However, just because you can go any colour you want doesn’t mean you should. The general rule is to only go two shades lighter or two shades darker than your natural colour.
Accentuate your lips with highlighter
Who wouldn’t want gorgeous, full lips a la Angelina Jolie? However, if you’re not born with a big pout and you can’t afford – or aren’t keen on – filler injections there is a simple trick you can use to make your lips look plumper. Take a highlighter or shimmer cream and apply a small amount in the very centre of your top and bottom lip. The light will catch it in such a way it will make your lips look fabulously full.
Use blusher correctly
Used correctly blusher can define your cheekbones, brighter your eyes and make you look all round healthier. Used incorrectly though and it can make you look like a clown! Too many people simply grab a large brush and start sploshing blusher over their cheeks without giving it much thought. But you need to apply blusher with a little structure. Smile so that you can see the apples of your cheeks clearly. Add a small amount of blusher with a medium sized brush to these area and then shake of any excess blusher from the brush. Do not apply any more blusher to the brush and gently use it to spread the colour from the centre of your cheeks, upwards and out towards to outer corner of your eyes.
