Research by online accountants Crunch.co.uk found that Brits are wasting £37million a year on gym memberships and slimming classes they never attend. Concept 2 hire schemes aim to help people get fit in the privacy of their homes from £35.75 per month.

Alex Skelton, communications manager, Concept2, said: “Health advantages to rowing include improving cardiovascular function, lowering the risk of strokes, maintaining bone health and fighting off the onset of diabetes”.

The ‘Hire to Buy Scheme’ enables exercisers to purchase the hire machine and receive the administrative charge and up to half of the first six months of the hire fees off the purchase price. With ‘Hire to Buy’, the Model D with PM3 monitor is £40.85 per month and the Model E with PM4 is £61.25 per month.

The ‘Hire Scheme’ (with a minimum hire period of just one month) includes Model D with PM3 monitor for rent at £35.75 per month and Model E with PM4 monitor for rent at £51.05 per month.
