Ditch the quest for perfection
The majority of us are striving towards some kind of perfection, be it the perfect wife or the perfect weight. A new book offers advice but advocates that it is OK to be who you are and that nobody is perfect.
The life-coach and author Teejay Dowe has recently published her book call ‘Perfectshun – Permission to be Human’ (£14.99 Ecademy Press) , looking at common symptoms of stress and depression.
Teejay reassures us that it's ok to feel down sometimes, and how it can even help us to live life more positively in the long run.
“How many times do you hear the phrase ‘I’m a perfectionist’ or ‘I won’t be happy till it’s perfect?’” she said
“The truth is never! And thank goodness for that, as otherwise we would all be finished, complete, nothing left to learn, nothing left to create, nothing left to explore, nothing left to aim for. That would be a depressing and scary thought and yet so many people claim to want perfection!”
