Five reasons why you should exercise

Let’s face it – if we had the choice most of us would rather not exercise. If there was a way we could have figures like superstars without ever having to set foot in that dreadful gym we would be over the moon.

However, despite being something of a pain to do, the benefits of exercising by far outweigh any cons. And it’s not just about getting toned legs and a flat tummy – although that is a big part of it!

If you’re lacking in motivation lately and you’re considering giving up on exercising here we give you five reasons why you shouldn’t.

Weight-loss
Let’s start with quite an obvious one, probably the main reason most of us get gym memberships or go running in the first place – exercise leads to weight-loss. And not silly weight-loss either, like the kind you get on fad diets, real weight-loss.

Fitness
Another obvious one – exercising keeps you fit. If you find yourself getting out of breath from walking up a few stairs or needing a lie down after carrying the shopping from the car to the kitchen, a good exercise regime can get you back in shape and feeling healthy!

Stress-buster
Aside from keeping you fit and helping you to lose weight exercise is also fantastic for getting rid of stress. Have you ever noticed how much happier you feel once you finish a really good workout? Exercise releases chemicals, which make you genuinely feel happier. Plus you’re bound to feel happy and proud of yourself for sticking with your regime!

Confidence-booster
So you’ve lost weight, you’re feeling fitter and you’re less stressed. The result? Your confidence soars! If you look after yourself you feel better about yourself. And having more confidence can affect all areas of your life from your work-life to your love life!

Anti-aging
Finally – as if you needed any more reasons to put on your trainers and get exercising – working out can keep you young. Research has proven that exercise and a good diet can help you to look and feel younger. So before you go out spending a fortune on anti-aging potions and lotions why not get yourself a good exercise regime and see your weight drop, your confidence go sky high and your youthful looks be maintained?
